D and J Properties is owned and run by ourselves Dave and Judy Shaw from our office in the Marsh area of Huddersfield and was established in 2003 with our first property in Syringa Street.

Our interest in accommodation for students started after our daughters experience with the letting market in Leeds and the poor properties that students were expected to live in while doing their studies.

Having had 2 girls of our own going off to University we are well aware of the needs and wishes of not only you as students but also "worried parents" often sending their offspring away for the first time.

Marsh has become one of the most popular areas for students because of its amenities and its closeness to Huddersfield. Coffee shops, bars, takeaways and supermarkets all within walking distance and a bus service into the centre of Huddersfield which runs every 5 minutes.

We have several properties in the Marsh area, some next door to each other, enabling larger groups of student friends to live together which have proved quite popular.

All our properties are fully furnished, from teaspoons to dishwasher, with nothing to bring but yourself and personal belongings.

Broadband, TV licence, gardener and window cleaner are all free and we even throw in a "Bonfire Night" get together where all students can meet one another.

All utility bills are included in the rent, leaving you free to concentrate on your studies instead of worrying about whether you can afford to pay the next gas bill!

GAS, ELECTRIC, EPC, HMO and TENANCY DEPOSIT SCHEME certificates are held as well as fully tested fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.

The sister company of D and J Properties is one of the oldest maintenance companies in Huddersfield and because of this, repairs to heating and electric are carried out within hours by our own qualified engineers to the highest standard.

		We have several properties in the Marsh area of Huddersfield. All are near well lit roads and bus stops giving easy access to the university. Local amenities include lots of take aways, KFC, Subways and Fish and Chip shops, pubs, wine bar, coffee shops, and local supermarkets and a Taxi firm. 			All our furnishings are updated regularly and are fire resistant, modern and clean. We never use furniture from auction rooms as some other landlords/companies do. All our properties are furnished to very high standards and include everything most students could want. All you need bring are your personal belongings and yourself.
		Repairs are carried out swiftly and to a very high standard by Metro Maintenance which is one of the largest Gas Safe/niceic approved plumbing, electric, heating and gas engineers in the town and is a sister company of D & J Properties.	Kitchens are spacious and well equipped
			Gardens fully maintained by our gardener and windows are cleaned on a regular basis. Most properties include garden furniture/BBQ areas with olympic size swimming pools - OK we're lying about the pools.
		Kitchens are fitted to very high standards and include Dishwashers and microwaves in addition to cooking utensils cutlery and crockery.	Kitchens are fitted throughout to exacting standards
		Greenhead Park	Nearby is the much loved and recently regenerated Greenhead Park with its acres of lush gardens, fountains, tennis courts, skateboarding park, resturant and a new boating lake all for your enjoyment. Concerts and events are regularly held here. It is also a very pleasent and usefull short cut to the university.
		Almost all the housing in Marsh is privately owned. Our sites in Marsh are actually on the very edge of the area almost in Edgerton (within 25 Metres). Edgerton is an area of large Victorian mansions.	Tennis courts in Greenhead park
